Farmers Arms Scoops Bumper Harvest
Mike Ford from The Farmers’ Arms in Kelsall, Cheshire was declared the overall winner of CaskForce II and went home with the rent for his pub paid for a whole year! All seven finalists gathered for a VIP luncheon in Burton upon Trent on 16th May and each had an equal chance of scooping the big prize. Arriving in chauffeur-driven cars, they were treated to a superb three course luncheon followed by a nail-biting selection process.
As Mike was revealed as the winner the other six finalists were the first to congratulate him. Mike said: “I’m not normally stuck for words but on this occasion I’m rather overcome.” Mike runs a Punch pub near Chester and has only been a licensee since August last year. He has built his business on a good regular trade who enjoy their cask beers and Mike and his team have all completed the ABCQ training. He plans to invest the money he has won in his business but will undoubtedly share his success with his customers.
